Staycation at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead

There was a time I never used to travel with Teddy. As a first time dog parent, I assumed you left your dog with a friend or at a boarding facility. It all changed when I had to make a very last minute trip to Alabama and had no time to find a sitter or a boarding facility. I remember looking for dog friendly hotels and it was a bleak selection. That trip sticks in my mind for all the wrong reasons. The hotel may have said it allowed dogs but they were not the least bit friendly when they saw a dog walk through their doors. Our staycation at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead was the complete opposite! From the moment we walked in everyone was happy to see Teddy and was accommodating to his needs.

The Grand Hyatt certainly lives up to its name, everything is grand! The lobby has high ceilings with grand pillars and chandeliers.

The friendly employees at the front desk welcomed us with water and champagne. The room had a water bowl and huge bed for Teddy, along with a bottle of wine and cheese board for me. We stayed in their Grand Suite which lived up to its name! The room has its own separate sitting area and amazing city views. We decided to have drinks and food at the Lobby bar, Onyx, and then stay in on Friday night to enjoy our comfortable hotel room and the bottle of wine.

Teddy prefers to sleep in on the weekends but we had exploring to do! The Grand Hyatt has a unique Zen Garden with a cascading water fall that you can not miss from the second you walk in the doors. It's absolutely beautiful!

After some coffee in bed, we enjoyed some quiet time in the garden and then had breakfast by the waterfall. Their restaurant, Cassis, offers a breakfast buffet along with a waffle and omelette station. This was our favorite part of the trip! It's a beautiful green sanctuary in an urban setting.

After exploring the hotel we were ready to venture out. The Grand Hyatt Buckhead is found right in the middle of Buckhead, within walking distance to many restaurants, stores, coffee shops and the Marta. There's so much to explore by foot. For lunch, we walked over to Bistro Niko and had a meal on their pet friendly patio. Even Teddy was able to order a meal from their pup friendly menu!

We had such an amazing weekend, we didn't want to leave! The hotel has great attention to detail and the staff was accommodating to our needs. If you are looking for a true dog friendly hotel in Atlanta, The Grand Hyatt Buckhead is the place for you!
